Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Wrexham (office based with site visits as required)

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will play a key role in managing project budgets, optimizing costs, and ensuring financial efficiency. You will oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, supporting the commercial team with daily responsibilities while making timely, informed decisions in line with operational procedures.
This role requires strong commercial awareness, analytical skills, and a results-driven mindset to ensure projects meet budget, quality, and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial and contractual relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Maximize contract profitability while maintaining a positive cash flow.
  • Collaborate with design, procurement, and contracts teams to ensure project feasibility and budget compliance.
  • Provide accurate cost and value reports to track project financial performance.
  • Attend pre-contract meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Prepare and submit client accounts, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation of variations.
  • Negotiate and finalize interim and final applications.
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts from initial agreement to final settlement.
  • Conduct site visits to assess work progress, measure completed work, and identify variations.
  • Identify and manage risks while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Monitor project progress and align expectations with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a commercial role within construction, preferably in facades or cladding.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of cost and value management principles.
  • Familiarity with JCT/NEC contract suites.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Construction Managers with expertise in cladding, facades, and roofing to lead projects from inception to completion. If you are looking for a new challenge on an exciting site, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Role Overview:

As a Construction Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of contracts within time, quality, and budget constraints. You will lead project teams, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with key departments, including commercial, health & safety, design, finance, procurement, and estimating. Your leadership will ensure projects meet company standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and monitor project plans and budgets in collaboration with commercial, design, quality, and H&S teams.
  • Lead, motivate, and appraise project staff, including site managers and assistant managers.
  • Ensure project milestones, deadlines, and budgets are met.
  • Provide coaching and training to project staff, ensuring high performance.
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through regular meetings and consultations.
  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring efficient resource allocation and material deliveries.
  • Coordinate labour and materials across site teams for optimised efficiency.

  • Work closely with the H&S department to ensure full compliance with safety protocols, including risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH requirements.

  • Take full ownership of site QCQA records, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with resident liaison and customer service teams to resolve any issues.
  • Address and manage contractor and subcontractor concerns efficiently.
  • Attend and coordinate regular site and management meetings.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, health & safety legislation, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Qualification – HNC or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
  • CSCS Card – Required.
  • SMSTS Certification – Site Management Safety Training Scheme.
  • Additional Certifications – Asbestos Awareness, Scaffold Inspection, First Aid.
  • Experience – Proven background in EWI, cladding, roofing, or facade projects.
  • Project Management Skills – Proficiency in Gantt charts, critical path analysis, and financial tracking.
  • Software Proficiency – Advanced MS Excel user; competent in MS Word, MS Project, and Outlook.

    Façade Designer / Façade DraughtspersonOffice Based

    Position: Façade Designer

    Role Overview:

    Quantum Facades Ltd is looking to expand its design department and appoint an experienced Façade Designer / Façade Draughtsperson.
    The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of façade packages from initial design development through to construction issue. The role will involve producing accurate technical drawings, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, manufacturers and the site team, and ensuring that façade systems are designed in accordance with the project specification, relevant regulations and approved technical information.
    The position would suit an organised and technically capable individual with experience in façade, cladding, glazing, roofing or architectural metalwork design.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Façade Designer / Draughtsperson will be responsible for:

    • Producing detailed façade drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Preparing general arrangement drawings, elevations, sections, interface details and fabrication information.
    • Developing architectural design intent into practical and buildable façade solutions.
    • Detailing rainscreen cladding systems, curtain walling, windows, doors, louvres, roofing interfaces, cavity barriers, insulation and associated substructures.
    • Producing bracket, rail and support layouts in accordance with structural design information.
    • Reviewing architectural, structural and fire strategy information.
    • Coordinating façade interfaces with the primary structure, roofing, internal walls, balconies, drainage and adjacent construction packages.
    • Ensuring drawings reflect the approved product specifications, technical submissions and manufacturer requirements.
    • Reviewing comments from architects, contractors, consultants and other members of the design team.
    • Updating drawings and responding to design review comments within agreed project deadlines.
    • Identifying missing or conflicting information and assisting with the preparation of Requests for Information.
    • Supporting the preparation of technical submissions, material schedules and design documentation.
    • Working alongside manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information, certificates, CAD details and product data.
    • Assisting with design coordination meetings and providing clear progress updates to the Design Manager.
    • Maintaining accurate drawing registers, revision records and document control.
    • Supporting the site team with technical queries and the preparation of construction details.
    • Ensuring façade designs are coordinated, buildable and suitable for installation.
    • Following company quality procedures and project-specific design requirements.
    • Supporting compliance with Building Regulations, fire safety requirements and the Building Safety Regulator process where applicable.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience working as a façade designer, façade draughtsperson, architectural technician or similar.
    • Experience producing detailed construction drawings.
    • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT would be desirable .
    • An understanding of façade systems and construction interfaces.
    • Experience with one or more of the following:
      • Rainscreen cladding.
      • Aluminium panels.
      • Curtain walling.
      • Windows and doors.
      • Louvres.
      • Roofing systems.
      • Insulation and cavity barriers.
      • Façade support brackets and rail systems.
    • The ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
    • A good understanding of tolerances, movement, drainage, ventilation and weatherproofing principles.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to manage multiple drawing packages and project deadlines.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider design team.
    • A practical understanding of how façade systems are manufactured and installed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Degree in Architecture / Architectural Technology or similar
    • Experience in the Façade Industry
    • Good Knowledge on Building regulations and BSR Gateway 2
